“PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – September 16 – Kids and parents have more in common than we think. Take haircuts. Kids hate to sit still. Parents hate telling them to sit still. Getting good portraits of their children elicits a similar response. In both cases, the child screams “Boring!” and the parent sighs, “Bland.” So what would compel mom or dad to combine a child’s haircut with a photo shoot?

Cookie Cutters Haircuts for Kids and Belle Vie Photography are hosting a “Face of 2009″ model search. Kids 12 and under get $5 off their haircut, a balloon and gift bag, and a complimentary mini portrait session. Parents receive a $50 photo credit for their child. A winning portrait will be selected at each location. Winners receive a complimentary 11×14 and their image will grace the walls of their local Cookie Cutters for 2009.

Cookie Cutters (Nick’s ParentsConnect.com 2008 winner of Parent’s Pick Best Kids’ Haircut in Philadelphia) looks and feels less like a barbershop and more like a Chucky Cheese. Kids choose to sit on a motorcycle, convertible, Clifford the Dog, or pink roadster for their haircuts. Videogames, and kid shows provide additional distraction.”
